Contempo Fireplaces

Contempo Fireplaces are built with the picky architect in mind. These hand laid masonry fireplaces are custom built and lightweight. Contempo's designs are prefabricated with a lightweight firebox and metal chimney, which scales in at only 990-2000 pounds. The lightweight design also gives you the option of installing a masonry fireplace on the second floor. Contempo is easy to install with no special footings required and zero clearance.

With a stylish herringbone refractory lined interior and three interior colors to choose from, owners can opt to burn wood or ceramic gas logs in their beautiful Contempo fireplace. Each fireplace is hand laid and U.L. 127 tested and approved by OMNI. Each Contempo Fireplace is prefabricated in modular pieces for ease of installation. The inside of the firebox is lined with 1" of colored refractory cement, cast in a herringbone pattern, with a hand grouted light-gray grout, and backed up with a lightweight and very high heat resistant Vermiculite concrete. Once assembled, the Contempo fireplace can be finished with a variety of decorative masonry choices. Two types of Contempo masonry fireplaces are available:

PFM

PFM is a closed-back traditional fireplace in 36", 42", 48" or 60" sizes. Each one has a contemporary design that is traditionally custom built for different tastes. PFM's are assembled onsite and since each is hand-laid, it may take several days or weeks to build one.

C-THRU

The C-THRU model is perfect for dividing up a room or for warming up two adjacent rooms with its 42" opening on both sides. This gives a lovely and warm fireplace ambience to any home setting. Sporting a full 4" of high temperature refractory masonry, the C-THRU can even be installed on wood floors.
